Hello, I'm Olliver (Öli), X years old and I'm from Bad Hersfeld.
In my free time, I enjoy doing sports and spending time with friends. I'm also part of the volunteer fire department here in Bad Hersfeld.
When did you start your training at Wempe Elektronic?
I started the training directly after completing my technical diploma (Fachabitur) in 2022, so I’ve now been with the company for three years. Even before the training, I had already completed two internships here, one of which was the one-year internship required for the technical diploma.
Why did you choose this apprenticeship?
Since I had already gained a lot of experience at the company during my technical diploma and felt very comfortable there, it was pretty clear to me that I also wanted to do my apprenticeship here.
What did the content of your training years include?
The training included learning programming languages, handling IT tasks, working on projects, and writing documentation. The apprenticeship was full of innovative and varied tasks. Great importance was placed on understanding what we were learning, by embedding the context rather than leaving it out.
What I especially liked was the wide range of experiences I was able to gain and the use of modern technologies. Project work with apprentices from other departments was particularly enjoyable, as everyone contributed their expertise to make the bigger picture possible.
What did a typical day during your apprenticeship look like?
On a typical day, I worked on tasks assigned to me. I could always turn to colleagues or trainers if I had questions. There were also courses and training sessions to introduce or reinforce new topics.
What’s next for you after your apprenticeship?
After completing the apprenticeship, I was taken on by the company and now work here as a hardware and software developer. This is a slightly different area than what I focused on during the training, as it’s more about the interface between hardware and software. However, I feel I can contribute more effectively to the company in this field and continue to develop my skills.
Is there anything you particularly like about Wempe Elektronic?
Das Miteinander unter Kollegen, sowie das Arbeitsklima ist hier sehr angenehm.
+ Die Geschäftsführung hat eine sehr Zeitgemäße und Moderne Einstellung, was sich in der Weiterentwicklung der Firma widerspiegelt.
+ Ich schätze es auch sehr dass ich hier für Feuerwehr Einsätze freigestellt werden kann, dass ist für viele Arbeitgeber keine Selbstverständlichkeit.
